Three main things you need to know and do:

 

1. What's the age of your roof? If It's old enough to drink, go off to college or date, you may need to replace it or at least have it evaluated. A quick way to determine the age of your roof is to look for the receipt from the roofing company. If you don't have a receipt, you can call the City of Fort Walton Beach or the County to see when the permit to replace the roof was pulled. Most of the homes are in the city, but some are in Okaloosa County.

 

2. Do you have an up-to-date wind mitigation report? This is a report that you have submitted to your insurance company to lower your insurance cost. If you don’t know, call me, I can help you call a wind mitigation inspector, who will come and inspect your roof. It's quick and easy.

 

3. Why would you do this before you put your house on the market? Because it's much easier to do minutiae ahead than when you are in the midst of packing and moving in a 30 day period. A home that is well prepared to sell is a home that will sell much quicker and for more money, with less hassle.
