Why I Answer the Phone (and Everything Else Too)
TL;DR
Most agents pass you off to assistants. I don’t. When you hire me, you get me. I answer the phone, respond to texts, review contracts, and manage every detail of your sale personally. Fewer handoffs, fewer mistakes, and thousands saved. When you hire me to sell your home, you're trusting me with what’s probably the biggest asset you own. That’s not something I take lightly. So no, I don’t hand you off to an assistant or a transaction coordinator.
Here’s how it usually works today: You start with an agent, then get passed to a listing coordinator, then a showing scheduler, then maybe a virtual assistant, then a transaction coordinator, and finally a post-closing coordinator. That’s five different people. It all works—until it doesn’t.
The real estate business has changed in a lot of ways. But one thing hasn’t: almost half of new agents are out within two years, and 90% don’t make it five. I’d be nervous they might quit in the middle of listing my home.
That’s why I do things differently.
I answer the phone. I reply to your texts and emails. Because if I were you, I’d want to talk to me—not someone who barely knows the details of your transaction.
And here’s the smart part: I don’t need to hire an assistant because I include you in a few simple steps you’d probably be doing anyway—like reviewing a timeline or clicking to sign paperwork. It respects your time and saves you money. If I don’t need extra staff, I don’t need to pass on extra costs.
I’m not in this for trophies or plaques to hang on the wall. I do a limited number of transactions so I can be fully present and actually know what’s happening in your sale—the way you’d want to be treated if the roles were reversed.
FAQs
Why do you handle everything yourself?
Because real estate isn’t plug-and-play. Every sale has moving parts, and fewer handoffs mean fewer mistakes. When I know every detail, I can protect your interests better.
What happens if you’re busy or on another call?
I’ll call you back fast. I prioritize seller calls and buyer inquiries because missed calls can mean missed opportunities.
Do you actually answer “spam-likely” calls?
Yes. Many “spam” calls are actually buyers, lenders, or other agents. I’d rather waste 30 seconds screening a robocall than miss a serious buyer for your home.
How does this save me money?
Fewer staff means lower overhead. I don’t need a listing coordinator, showing scheduler, or transaction manager. Those savings roll back to you through my 1% listing model.
What if something comes up outside business hours?
I keep flexible availability for urgent situations like offer deadlines, inspection issues, and buyer questions. When timing matters, you won’t get voicemail.
How do I know you won’t be overwhelmed without assistants?
I take on fewer transactions intentionally so I can focus on each one. That balance lets me provide full-service representation without compromise.
What if another agent has a buyer for my house?
I’ll take the call immediately, coordinate showings personally, and negotiate directly with them so no opportunity slips through the cracks.
Same service. Better results. Every dollar you don’t pay in commission is a dollar you keep.
